What is Wrong With This Picture? No Sail Boat!

I paid a visit to my brother in Florida a few years ago for a summer vacation. He lives out on Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville and I loved the time I spent there with him and the whole environment. My wife encouraged me to look for a home for us to visit and ultimately retire to.  I looked for a house starting at Atlantic Beach and proceeding south and then across the state to Fort Myers and headed north. When I reached Venice my search ended.

Three years ago we purchased a home on the island and we love it. I was on the beach one day just taking in the beauty of the Gulf, wild life and tropical plants and the thought came to me what a beautiful location to have a sail boat. When I was younger did a lot of sailing with my uncle who had a Pearson 424 located in the north east (Glen Cove, Long Island).  As everyone knows the north east has a very short sailing season. South west Florida was perfect.

A New Journey, Find the Right Boat.

I loved looking for a home, but now the thought of sailing in the Gulf really got me excited. I looked at many makes and models of boats from Florida to Cape Code. For me it came down to the  Pearson 35.  The last one I looked at I bought and it has been a joy and adventure working on her. This web sight is about my journey in the restoration of Hull_405
